STUDENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Registration can be at any time during the term. As soon as registered, you can come to the next available class.

  • Cancellation of enrolment must be made by the end of the term for the following term.

  • Border Show Business has a multi-class discount. Please see here for more information on fees and discounts.

  • Border Show Business Academy is a highly sort after academy and does not offer refunds.

  • If for some unforeseen event, a tutor needs to cancel a class, a makeup lesson, credit or refund will be provided.

  • Students are required to attend all classes within reason. If a student misses a lesson, no makeup lesson or credit will be given, except in extenuating circumstances.

  • Parents/Guardians should notify Border Show Business Academy if a student is going to miss a class.

COVID-19 Plan

 

For the best possible return for us all, we ask that you take the time to read this plan and contact us if needed.

We are asking: PARENTS AND STUDENTS​

  • Please use hand sanitiser on entry.

  • If the student is Covid-19 positive, they must not attend class.

  • Students must arrive a maximum of 5 mins before their class.

  • Please be ready on time to pick up your child at the end of their lesson.

  • All parents to collect students from foyer (senior classes excluded)

  • We ask students to come to class with limited items. Most important to remember a drink bottle and we ask for no snacks, please.

 

What staff are doing;

  • The class area will be disinfected regularly and as per requirements.

  • BSBA will always adhere to the Victorian Government restrictions.

  • If a child becomes unwell during a class, a parent or guardian will be contacted to collect them.

  • During lockdowns, zoom classes will be provided in leiu.

  • Any parents with questions are welcome to contact us by phone or by email.

 

Please note that all requirements and restrictions are according to the current Victorian Health Regulations regarding Covid and may change.

Fees & Payments

  • Border Show Business Academy accepts payment by direct transfer, online payment, credit/debit card and cash.

  • When paying by Direct Transfer please ensure that the description clearly states your invoice number.

  • Students will be turned away if fees are unpaid. Please contact staff to discuss if you are having financial problems.

Uniform and Costumes

​​

  • Students will be expected to wear appropriate comfortable clothing for classes. An Academy tee-shirt is available at a cost of $25, leggings, bike shorts or comfortable pants/shorts to dance in, neat hair, footwear and accessories as requested by the tutor.

  • Costumes for performances are at the cost of the student, however, costs will be kept to a minimum (maximum $100 pa) and staff will assist students in obtaining 2nd hand and recycled items to the best of their ability.

  • Dance shoes may be required, however, all students will be given one terms notice of the required dance shoes and staff will assist those that would prefer obtaining second-hand items to the best of their ability. 

 

Privacy policy

  • All personal information collected by Border Show Business Academy remains private and confidential and will only be used by the staff of the academy. Personal information will never be disclosed to other parties.

  • By accepting these terms, you understand that students images and other footage or recordings from class and performances can be used for promotional purposes. Please add a comment in the registration form if you wish to withdraw from this agreement.

Supervision

​​

  • Border Show Business Academy only provides supervision for students during their allocated class time.

  • If students arrive before their class time or remain after their class time, they are not the responsibility of Border Show Business Academy. Please ensure the parent/guardian picks up immediately at the completion of the class.

  • Border Show Business Academy operates as per the Victorian public school terms at Unit 1/155 Melbourne Road Wodonga.

  • Carers must be present in Focus on Ability classes.

  • Lessons are not held in school holidays or on public holidays, however, there may be optional extra workshops from time to time.

  • All Border Show Business Academy staff have undergone a strict selection process. All staff have been carefully chosen because of their experience, teaching skills, musical abilities and rapport with students.

 

Child Protection

  • All Border Show Business Academy staff have been screened with the “Working with Children Check” under the Child Protection Act and abide by a Child Safety Code of Conduct.

  • Border Show Business Academy considers child protection to be an important issue and all staff have an understanding of the duty of care towards the students they teach.

  • If you would like to view our Child Safety Code of Conduct, please contact our administrators.

  • Border Show Business Academy has a strict anti-bullying policy. If any student is found to be directly or indirectly bullying another student, this includes online activity, a mandatory meeting with the directors of the academy, and possibly well-being officers, will be required. If the behaviour continues, the student will be asked to leave the academy immediately. This decision is at the discretion of the academy directors and no further correspondence will be entered into.  

Insurance

  • Border Show Business Academy holds Public Liability insurance to $10,000,000. Please ask for a copy of other accident/injury insurance if necessary.

  • All staff/tutors and students are covered by public liability insurance within class and performances.

*Border Show Business Academy reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time.  If there is any adjustment in fees, there will be at least one terms notice.
