SENIOR MUSICAL THEATRE
Ages 14-18
Love Glee, Pitch Perfect or wish to become a triple threat?
Tuesdays (exhausted) or Thursdays from 6.00 - 7.30 pm

This class will give secondary school students an opportunity to perform as a group just like the musical shows you love.
​
The students will learn a variety of singing and dance techniques through movement and song. Characterisation will also be incorporated into this class including some fun drama games to build confidence and acting skills, thus bringing all these aspects of performance together.
All students will perform in front of audiences during the end of the year concerts. There is no need to have any show business experience for this fun, safe environment, however, more experienced students may have extra performance opportunities throughout the year.
Border Show Business Academy encourages active participation, and the result is a group of inspired and proficient individuals with a drive for learning and a motivation to succeed.

BROADWAY BABES
MUSICAL THEATRE

Broadway Babes is a class for children aged 4-6 years old, specially designed for Kindergarten, Foundation and Year 1 students that love to move. Students will sing, dance and act in a fun atmosphere to build confidence and a love of performing. Students are encouraged to develop correct dance foundation techniques through specific movements, improving timing, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Vocal skills and characterisation will grow through a series of drama and singing games, improving tone, social, communication, and vocabulary skills. A fun class that gives the student a taste of being a future triple threat.
ACTING & STAGECRAFT

This Acting and Performance Class aims to provide growing drama enthusiasts with a developed understanding of everything drama. Through this class, students will experience a breakdown of all aspects of drama through characterisation, playwriting, memory building and staging. This class aims to provide performance-driven lessons to gather an understanding of the many styles, techniques, elements and processes of drama that make up a strong performance. Students will be encouraged and guided through a process to find their own voice and passion for drama throughout their division of group performances and a selection of monologues that are unique and special to them.
ACTING CLASS

This Acting and performing class aims to provide budding performers with a fun and safe place to express themselves as actors. Through this class, students will be encouraged to work collaboratively as an ensemble and independently through group performance and solo work. Students will work on speech, movement, characterisation, expression, memory building and stage presence through learning, performing and engaging in drama activities, storytelling and creating scenes.
*Please be aware that students need to be capable of walking up and down stairs to get to our studio. Carers/Support Workers may be required to remain onsite to assist their clients and for toileting (downstairs). Please book a time to inspect the premises to see if they are suitable by calling Allyssa on 0403 001277.

ADULT THEATRE DANCE CLASS

Love the dancing on Broadway? Want to learn? Come and have some fun in our theatre dance class, learning routines from musicals or popular soundtracks. Our classes will teach technique behind the steps and a wide range of fun routines. This class is suitable for all dance levels.

This class is designed for young performers that would like to learn about their developing voice whilst performing as both solo and as a group.
Each student will receive guidance and feedback in a safe and encouraging environment, learn vocal and performance techniques and the class will focus on building confidence within each student.

Do you have an upcoming audition?
These sessions are designed to help and guide you through your audition material. Being prepared is the best way to increase your confidence and be ready for the challenges of the audition process. We offer one on one or group sessions to help you with all aspects of the audition process. Targeted classes for singing, dancing or acting can be booked as well.
INTRODUCTION TO FILMMAKING

TEENS to ADULTS
1 hour class + shoot days

These classes run for an hour on a weekly basis, but also have shoot days where students may be required for up to full-day shoots. Each term we come up with an idea to create and plan a short production. We learn from existing shows and everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the creation, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, pre-production, directing, shooting, sound and acting for screen. SINGING MASTERCLASS

This masterclass runs for a full term and is designed for students that already have singing and performance experience and are looking to further improve on their knowledge and skills.
In these classes the students will learn more about vocal anatomy and health, perform for each other, receive guidance and feedback in a safe and encouraging environment, learn the step by step process from song selection right through to the performance and will focus on building confidence within each student.
