JUNIOR & INTERMEDIATE SHOW BUSINESS CLASSES

Love Glee, Pitch Perfect or wish to become a triple threat?

JUNIORS - Mondays from 7yrs+ 4.45 pm - 6.15 pm

INTERMEDIATE - Thursdays 10-13yrs 4.45 pm - 6.15 pm

This class will give primary school students aged 7+ an opportunity to perform as a group just like the musical shows you love.

During this ensemble class, students will work with our experienced teachers, Vocal coach, Lauren Schmutter, choreographer, Caitlin Clarke and creative Allyssa Constable.

The students will learn a variety of singing, character and dance techniques through movement and song.

Characterisation will also be incorporated into this class including some fun drama games to build confidence and acting skills, thus bringing all these aspects of performance together.

All students will perform in front of audiences at the end of year concerts. There is no need to have any show business experience for this fun, safe environment.

Border Show Business Academy encourages active participation, and the result is a group of inspired, creative, confident individuals.

BROADWAY BABES

Saturdays 10 - 11 am

Classes for 4-7 year olds

A class designed to develop movement, flexibility, balance and coordination through correct foundation technique and dance moves in a fun environment while encouraging children to have confidence and a love of performing.

Also to develop character, social, movement, communication and increasing vocabulary skills in a fun atmosphere whilst building confidence. Students will do a combination of specially designed characterisation games and song.

SENIOR SHOW BUSINESS ACADEMY

Thursdays from 6.30 - 8.00 pm

This class will give secondary school students an opportunity to perform as a group just like the musical shows you love.

During this ensemble class, students will work with our experienced teachers, Vocal coach, Lauren Schmutter, choreographer, Caitlin Clarke and creative Allyssa Constable.

The students will learn a variety of singing and dance techniques through movement and song. Characterisation will also be incorporated into this class including some fun drama games to build confidence and acting skills, thus bringing all these aspects of performance together.

All students will perform in front of audiences during the end of the year concerts. There is no need to have any show business experience for this fun, safe environment, however, more experienced students may have extra performance opportunities throughout the year.

Border Show Business Academy encourages active participation, and the result is a group of inspired and proficient individuals with a drive for learning and a motivation to succeed.

ADULT THEATRE DANCE CLASS

Adults Aged 15 +

Mondays 7 - 8pm

Love the dancing on Broadway? Want to learn? Come and have some fun in our theatre dance class, learning routines from musicals or popular soundtracks. Our classes will teach technique behind the steps and a wide range of fun routines. This class is suitable for all dance levels.

INTRODUCTION TO FILMMAKING

TEENS +

Mondays 5.30 - 7pm

These classes run for an hour and a half on Mondays for teens and include scriptwriting, storyboarding, pre-production, directing, shooting, sound and acting for screen. You will go through the process each term and come out the end with a short film, pilot episode or advertisement as a joint collaboration.

SCREENWRITING

16 Years + - Online Zoom Course

Wednesdays 7.30 - 8.30 pm

Ever wondered how to write a Feature Film or Series Pilot?

This online course will cover creating characters and worlds, formatting, three-act structure, realistic dialogue and originality. This class is recommended if you have a germ of an idea and the ability to do some work between classes. It is okay if you don't do the extra work if you just want to do it as a spectator for later use. Register today!

ACTING CLASS

Senior Acting & Stagecraft

Secondary School Students

Mondays 4.30 - 5.30pm

This Senior Acting and Performance Class aims to provide growing drama enthusiasts with a developed understanding of everything drama. Through this class, students will experience a breakdown of all aspects of drama through characterisation, playwriting, memory building and staging. This class aims to provide performance-driven lessons to gather an understanding of the many styles, techniques, elements and processes of drama that make up a strong performance. Students will be encouraged and guided through a process to find their own voice and passion for drama throughout their division of group performances and a selection of monologues that are unique and special to them.

ACTING CLASS

Junior Acting & Stagecraft

Primary School Students

Tuesdays 4.30 - 5.30pm

This Junior acting and performing class aims to provide young performers with a fun and safe place to express themselves as actors. Through this class, students will be encouraged to work collaboratively as an ensemble and grow their confidence in solo performances. Students will work on characterisation, expression, memory building and stage presence through the process of learning and performing scenes and monologues.

SINGING MASTERCLASS

For Musical Theatre Singers

Commencing February 3rd 2021

Wednesdays 6.30 - 8.00pm

This masterclass will run for a full term and is designed for students that already have some singing experience.

In these classes the students will perform for each other, receive guidance and feedback in a safe and encouraging environment, learn the step by step process from song selection right through to the performance and will focus on building confidence within each student.
